Swadeshi Chatting App “Kimbho” Taken Down From Play Store

Just a couple of the day ago swadeshi chatting app "Kimbho" was re-launched by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev’s (FMCG ) company Patanjali. There was the announcement of launching the full-fledged working app with suggestion and comments from the public. The first time it was launched in the May than after it was the second time they did announce with a trial version of the app. According to the report found on leading newspaper Indian Express, there were lots of complaints about its implementation of features. Around 5000 users downloaded this app, faced a problem with its UI. The users also faced problem-related to sign up. So, there may be possibilities that the company itself taken down it to improve security and other features. 

Earlier Patanjali said that officially it will be launched on 27 August. Regarding the removal of the app from Google Play Store The managing director of Patanjali, Acharaya Balakrishnan, said that Kimbho is ready to launch with the new avatar and better features. Another official of Patanjali said when the app was launched just for one day more than 1.5 lac people downloaded it within three hours only. It was launched for just one day to collect feedback from peoples.

The swadeshi messaging app “Kimbo” was downloaded more than 5000 times since its launch on Google Play Store. The app asks the user to grant eight level of permission including users consent to access content stored in the phone as well external memory like photos, media and files, camera, contacts, calendar and events, make and manage phone calls, microphone, and send, record and view SMS. In the privacy policy company mentioned that user information will not be sell or share in any case to third-party. But It is also added that to improve app quality the data may be shared to third-party.


Patanjali Ayurved managing director Acharya Balkrishna tweeted that “Kimbho” is a Sanskrit word, it means “How are you?" or "What's new?" -- is now equipped with "new and advanced features". Mukesh Ambani owned company Reliance soon going to rolling out WhatsApp support to JIO Phone2, WhatsApp extending its availability another side “Kimbho” just entering in this market with the first step on 27 August 2018. The features, what they have mentioned on Google Play Store looks very attractive and productive to the users but as the recent scenarios show that it is a bit difficult to stay there in the market with this app. Still, It is going to be the really interesting thing that what response “Kimbho” receives from peoples.
