How to Hide Control Panel in Windows Xp

By Jitendra Indave On Tuesday, January 24, 2012
As I works as computer instructor. Every day I have to go through control panel in Microsoft windows xp. Because students always changes settings. Some times they installs unnecessary font that as result pc runs slow. Sometime they creates user account or set password to admin if there is not set one.Sometimes Changes Regional language settings, Uninstalls program or removes device drivers. This all becomes headache to me to reset it again in previous mode. Just got one trick to get rid of this headache by reading in tech magazine. The same I am going to share  with you. Here, step by step I will show how to hide control panel.

Step by step

1. Go to Start menu , Click to Run

2. In Run diolouge box type "gpedit.msc " and press enter

3. You will get screen as shown below [click on image to see in large size.]

In above dialogue box Click to user configuration then Administrative Templates then Control Panel in right pane you will get "Prohibit access to the control panel". Just double click on it.

4. You will get one more dialogue box  as shown below. Select enabled and click to ok

Thats it ..., Now check your control panel. Is it there ?

If you want to get back your control panel then follow the same steps at only last stage you have select disabled .

any doubt ???  feel free to ask me.
