There is a small trick in windows operating system, using it one can block certain website. There are several ways through you can block it. The parameter can be set in the router by going through its configuration page. Nowadays, almost all anti-virus software gives facility of the block and unblock the same can be used. But here I am sharing such tips where you don’t need to install any kind of program or script. If you want to keep away your children from accessing some of the websites like Facebook, Twitter or any other than it becomes most challenging tasks to restrict access of certain website. You can do it using the process shown below. Before moving ahead let me clear that this tip is shown here educational purpose only.
Step By Step
1. Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and open the file “host” in notepad (If your OS is not installed on C drive select the subsequent)
2. Suppose you want to block website facebook.com then enter 127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com at the last line. Save and close it.
3. Open your web browser and try to access...Voila...You will not be able to access it.
Tip: - If you have installed Microsoft security essential, it will not allow you to change. Make sure it is disabled before processing.
Here in the said file, for each website, you have to enter the separate line.
If any doubt feels free to ask me. In certain cases, the host file appears in read-only or in the hidden format. So, the user needs to deal with it before processing ahead.
